With sufficiently organized data, Airtable offers powerful filtering capabilities.

Our Global Irish Events Calendar captures appropriate data that can assist you in finding:

  • your preferred event organizers
  • events themes of interest
  • events based on specific locations (city and country)
  • events within a certain time frame

How To:

(Video demonstration at the bottom)

In the below example, we are going to filter the Card View in order to find upcoming events in Boston.

First, choose the Filter button.

The next step is to “Add Condition“.

Having chosen “Add Condition“, a pop-up displays the various filterable elements of the database. We need to build a formula based on our chosen criteria.

As we are choosing to filter based on events being hosted in Boston, we’ll choose City from the drop down menu.

Next, we will choose an operator – the default is “is” – however, there are other options including “contains” or “does not contain” or “is not”.

And finally, we choose “Boston” from the drop down menu of available cities (pro-tip: you can start typing the name of the city in this box to see if your chosen city appears).

That completes the process of building the filter formula – Airtable will automatically filter the available results.

You can delete a condition at any time by choosing the Trashcan icon.

You can also add multiple conditions to a filter. For example, if you wanted to find events that are in:

  1. In New York
  2. Are in-person
  3. Have a business theme
  4. Take place within the next 14 days

… you can add 4x conditions to build the relevant filter. This scenario is included in the video demonstration below.
